National Forum on Education Reforms and Transformations, Sri Lanka is organized by the ministry of education of Sri Lanka to discuss about the educational reforms to be undertaken based on objectives of Government of Sri Lanka. The CEO of GenuineIn Technologies Somasundaram has been participated as a special invitee. The forum is headed by honorable Minister for higher education Dr. Suren Raghavan and advisor to the ministry of education Prof. Gunapala Nanayakkara.

Transformations in education change envisage discontinuity from the past and introduction of new systems. While change in the form of reforms can reverse over time, transformations are meant to stay and continue, because they destroy the previous system. Introduction of a new subject in the school curriculum is an example of reform, and introduction of digital education can be considered an example of transformation. The proposed changes in the education system include both reforms and transformations.

The purpose of the forum to identification of careers and skills that are essential for sectoral planning of human resource development through education, science and technology. It is proposed that sectoral teams are formed accordingly to guide the development of databases. The data will further be organized within the national competency framework of education and filtered down to institutional levels for the information of curriculum implementers in general education, higher education, technical and vocational education and professional education. The leadership task shall be undertaken by the National Education Commission.
